She lived a full and joyful life for 78 years until she was called home. Anna gained her heavenly wings on March 22nd, 2024, surrounded by an abundance of love.
Anna received her education from Baltimore City Public Schools and graduated June of 1963 from Douglass High School. On July 3rd, 1965, Anna married the love of her life James Ellerbee and the pair had two children. She worked for Western Electric Company, which eventually led to a move to Richmond, Virginia. After retiring from the company, she worked for the Henrico County Public School system until her full retirement.
Anna was a faithful member of Saint Paul’s Baptist Church, where she played a pivotal role in their seniors’ group. She enjoyed shopping, bus trips, the casino, gardening, church, and spending time with her family & friends. Anna will be remembered for how loving and kind she was. She will also be memorized for the way she carried herself. Not only with poise, but how sharp she looked every time she stepped out the door. She always said, “you have to look your best because you never know who you may see”.
Anna is survived by her loving husband of 58 years, James Ellerbee Jr; Two sons, James and Kelly Ellerbee; Daughter-in-law, Harriette Ellerbee; Seven grandchildren: Kaneisha Ellerbee, Brittany Pratt, Matthew Dennison, Michael Ellerbee, Kelly Ellerbee, Aleah Ellerbee and Ryan Ellerbee; Brother, James “Boise” Vandiver and a host of nieces, nephews & friends. She is now reunited in heaven with her parents, 4 brothers (Raymond “Tuck” Fountain, Ernest Vandiver, Earl Vandiver, and William “Tank” Vandiver) and Aunt, Fannie Gambrell.
May Gods angels watch over and keep us safe.
