Carolyn Eades Hammond, 64, of Richmond, went to be with her mother, brother, and the Lord on October 4, 2013. She was preceded in death by her mother, Doris Eades and brother, Bubba Eades. Carolyn retired from the Department of Motor Vehicles after 43 years of service. She had a passion for interior design, reading, and making people laugh. She is survived by her husband of 43 years, Franklin C. Hammond; sons, Jospeh “J.R.” Hammond and Franklin C. Hammond, Jr; granddaughter, Frankie Ann; sisters, Linda Townsend, Sandy Isom, and Diane Sellers; brother, Dennis Eades and a host of nieces, nephews, and family members. The family will receive friends on Monday, October 7, 2013 from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. and from 6:00p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Nelsen Funeral Home, 4650 S. Laburnum Avenue, Richmond, Virginia 23231, where a funeral service will be conducted on Tuesday, October 8, 2013 at 1:00 p.m. Interment will follow in Washington Memorial Park.
