Carrie Weaver McNamee Thacker

THACKER, Carrie McNamee, 87, journeyed home to her Heavenly Father on June 27th, 2018 surrounded by family. Waiting were her husbands who predeceased her, Wilbur “Willie” McNamee Sr., and Charles I. Thacker Jr., her brother Eugene Weaver, sister Essie Waters, and her grandson Willie Joe Sneed. She is survived by her daughters Sharon Sharp (Danny), Vicki Sharp (Dudley), and Michelle Harding. She is also survived by her loving son Wilbur A. McNamee Jr. She leaves to cherish special memories, 6 grandchildren, Beth Price, Jason Sharp, Brandon Sharp (Holly), Heather Jones (Robbie), Lacey Allen, and Kaytie Burke (Joey). 9 great-grandchildren and 1 great great grandson. She is also survived by her cousin Russell Flammia (Jackie) and nephew Gene Weaver. Carrie enjoyed canning and baking and will be remembered for her homemade pound cakes and “the best homemade rolls you ever put in your mouth!” She will be greatly missed by her granddaughters Lacey and “Kaytie Byrd” who spent the last several months caring for her as did her son “Chucky.” The family will receive friends from 3 to 7 p.m., on Sunday, July 1, 2018, at Nelsen Funeral Home in Richmond, Va., where a service will be held on Monday, July 2, 2018 at 10 a.m.
