Donald Hugh Brown "Cappy"

Donald Hugh Brown (Cappy), 67, of Varina, Glen Allen, and Whitestone, born, November 1, 1947, went to be with the Lord, Thanksgiving Day, 2014. Thanksgiving was his special day. He was preceded in death by his father, Elmer Brown; sister, Sharon Marr; and brother; Stevie Brown. He is survived by his mother, Gaynelle Brown; his wife of 18 years, Linda Kaye Brown; daughter, Stacy Donati (JB); son, John Brown (Cristy); stepson, Rocky Robbins (Heather); brother, Jimmy Brown (Teresa); and sisters-in-law, Brenda Hutchison and Wanda Brown; brother-in-law, Jim Marr. He will be missed by his grandchildren, Cameron, Connor, Jadyn and Ethan. Donnie retired from the Richmond Airport. He loved coaching Varina Babe Ruth for 20 years. He bowled, enjoyed racing go karts, and was a very active member of Curles Neck Hunt Club. He attended Cool Springs Church and loved fishing with his wife and friends, at his home (Bridgeview) where he spent April to November. He will be greatly missed by his buddies, Butch Saunders and Linwood Green and his “baby girls”, Oreo, Shadow, Molly and Izzy. Linda will miss her best friend, their walks in the woods with “the girls” and their summers together. “I love you! Happy Anniversary! I’m so glad you’re not sick anymore my brave man.” The family will receive friends on Sunday, November 30th from 4-8pm, with funeral services Monday, December 1st at 1:00 pm. All services will take place at Nelsen Funeral Home, 4650 S. Laburnum Ave., Richmond, VA 23231. Interment will be at Washington Memorial Park, Sandston, VA.
