He was preceded in death by his son, Kevin Madison; son-in-law, Brian Edwards; and three sisters, Gladys, Mabel Reed and Virginia Madison.
Edward retired from Utica Mutual Insurance as an underwriter. He enjoyed cars, boating and flying and was a member of the Lions Club and Quiet Birds Flying Club.
Left to cherish his memory are his loving wife, Margaret Z. Madison; children, Janet M. Edwards, Michael Madison; grandchildren, Dana Edwards, Renee Edwards, Sherry E. Applegate; great grandson, Franklin Jay Applegate; as well as a host of extended family and friends.
A visitation will be held Wednesday, July 17, from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. at Nelsen Funeral Home, 4650 S. Laburnum Ave., Richmond, VA 23231 where a funeral service will immediately follow at 12 p.m.
Interment will be in Washington Memorial Park.
