She was preceded in death by her husband, Richard E. Stowell; son, Randal K. Browning; daughter, Brenda L. Satterwhite; parents, Alvin Pearl Weaver and Bertha Mae Weaver; and brother, Alvin Pearl Weaver, Jr.
Elinor retired from Sears & Roebuck as an advertisement manager and was a member of St. Andrew’s Episcopal Church. She enjoyed dancing, swimming, and music.
Left to cherish her memory are her daughter, Gail Browning Miles (William); grandchildren, Kristi Phaup (Phillip), Teri Lowry, Ryan Eldridge (Sean), Brandon Browning; 12 great grandchildren; nine great-great grandchildren plus two more on the way; sisters, Betty Godsey, Jennie Trovinger; as well as a host of extended family and friends.
The family will receive friends from 4 to 8 p.m. on Tuesday, December 12, at Nelsen Funeral Home, 4650 S. Laburnum Ave., Richmond, VA 23231. A private interment will be held in Greenwood Memorial Gardens.
