It is with profound sorrow that we announce the passing of Faye Ann Taylor Snedegar. She journeyed peacefully into the arms of God with her three daughters, Debbie, Louise and Sandi by her side along with her beloved grandchildren, Taylor and Sarah on Sunday, April 19, 2026.
Faye lived a long life. She was the daughter of Henry and Ula Taylor and wife to Etsel Snedegar. They along with her brothers, Lawrence, Darrell, Haroll, Irvine, Henry and sisters, Florence, Dorothy and Patty preceded her in death.
In addition to her three daughters, she is survived by her precious sister, Wilma Harris and many nieces, nephews and cousins. Her grandchildren brought her great joy. They are Sarah, Shawn and Taylor. Along with a very special niece, Becky Johnson, she had several great grandchildren that were the light of her life.
Faye grew up in a large farm family in Renick, WV. She was a lifelong Baptist. Her lifework was making sure her family was not only provided for, but happy. She was a homemaker and worked for AT & T and Lucent Technologies once her children were in school. She was tireless in her flower and vegetable gardening and home keeping and was passionate about the Washington Redskins and Washington Nationals, traveling many time to DC for their games. She was well liked by colleagues and friends and known for her compassion, dependability and humor. She took care of family members in her home and took care of her elder neighbor for many years. She was not afraid of hard work, facing challenges head on or completing this earthly journey and going to her heavenly reward. Her legacy is one of humor, high standards and perseverance which will be carried forward by those who knew and loved her.
The family would like to give special thanks to Dr. Kelly Hagan at the Virginia Cancer Institute, Dr. Johnny Wong at Richmond Pulmonary Associates and Dr. William Moore of Bon Secours for their years of vigilance and care.
The family will receive friends Wednesday, April 29, from 1 to 2 p.m. at Nelsen Funeral Home, 4650 S. Laburnum Ave., Richmond, VA 23231 where a service will immediately follow at 2 p.m. in the funeral home chapel.
Interment will be in Washington Memorial Park.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to New Kent County Fire – Rescue.
