She was preceded in death by her husband, Edward E. Holmes, Jr. and four of her children.
She is survived by two daughters, Barbara McKenney (Joe) and Audrey Overstreet; son-in-law, Chip Urban; daughter-in-law, Beatrice Holmes; nine grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild; also left to cherish her memory, her BFF of 60 years, Muriel Nightengale.
Frances was retired from Christian Children’s Fund and State of Virginia, Dept. of Agriculture, Office of Consumer Affairs.
The family will receive friends Thursday, August 25, from 2 to 6 p.m. at Nelsen Funeral Home, 4650 S. Laburnum Ave., Richmond, VA 23231.
A graveside service will be held Friday, August 26, at 1 p.m. at Maury Cemetery, 2700 Maury St., Richmond, VA 23224.
