

Toney, Gladys May, 86, Highland Springs, passed away Saturday, April 12, 2014. Gladys was born in Buckingham County and preceded in death by her parents, John Jack and Cora Belle Miles; husband of sixty five years, Robert Frank Toney; and five brothers, Earl, Stanley, Kenny Lee “Boots”, John Jack Jr., Tommy, and James “Pete” Miles. She is survived by two sons, Reed Toney (Marsha) of Bumpass, Robert Toney (Linda) of Mechanicsville; five grandchildren, Jessica Rogers, Danielle Porter, Caleb Paynter, Daniella Vonberg, Natanya Alon; five great-grandchildren, Sydney and Avery Vonberg, Silvie Alon-Woocher, Daven and Eden Porter; one brother, Ray Miles of Dillwyn; three sisters , Shirley Waycaster, Frances Smith of Dillwyn, Faye Marion of Cumberland; two beloved “daughters”, Pam Davis, and Margaret Farmer; along with many friends of Bill W. Gladys worked at C.F. Sauer and was recognized after serving twenty three years in 1989. She was notorious for her “Gladys hugs”, loving everyone and touching the hearts and lives of so many. The family will receive friends on Wednesday, April 16, 2014 from 2-4 pm and 6-8 pm at Nelsen Funeral Home, 4650 S. Laburnum Ave, Richmond, VA 23231; where a chapel service will be held on Thursday April 17, 2014 at 11 am. Interment in Washington Memorial Park.
