Gloria June Throckmorton Talley

TALLEY, Gloria June Throckmorton, 87, passed away, July 4, 2014. She was the youngest child of six children, born to Charles and Virginia Throckmorton. She was preceded in death by her parents; former husband, James G. Talley; son-in-law, James E. Snead III; one sister; and four brothers. Gloria is survived by her daughters, Carolyn Talley Snead of Richmond, VA, Ginny Talley Meeks (Bill) of Mechanicsville, VA; grandchildren, Tanya Shewmake (Stephen) of Richmond, VA, Will Meeks of Mechanicsville, VA, Melanie McKloskey (Mike) of Baltimore, MD, Kim Snead Neuner (C.J.) of Richmond, VA; great grandchildren, James and Allison Shewmake, Eleanor and Charlotte McKloskey; numerous nieces, nephews, cousins; and friends, including her remaining classmates from Varina High School class of 1944; who still regularly get together. Gloria retired from the Commonwealth of Virginia and was a member of Ginter Park United Methodist Church. She dearly loved her family and will be greatly missed by them. Her family was the most important thing to her all of her life. She fought the good fight to stay on earth. Her strength and goodness will continue to be an inspiration to her family. Her love knew no bounds. The family will receive friends on Monday, July 7, 2014 from 6-8 pm at Nelsen Funeral Home, 4650 S. Laburnum Ave. Richmond, VA 23231. A funeral service will be conducted on Tuesday, July 8, 2014 at 2 pm at Ginter Park United Methodist Church, 1010 W. Laburnum Ave. Richmond, VA 23227. Interment will follow in Forest Lawn Cemetery.
