She was preceded in death by her husband of 65 years, Cecil Eugene Sears.
She is survived by her devoted son, Glenn Sears; two grandchildren, Robin Parks (Jason), Jeremy Sears (Ashley); four great-grandchildren, Dylan and Savannah Parks, Abby and Hannah Sears; as well as several nieces and nephews.
Irene retired from the Federal Reserve Bank after working for more than three decades. She was known affectionately as "Nana" by her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Her memories and life will be celebrated by those who knew her.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association.
