James Norbert "Jimmy" Hicks

James Norbert "Jimmy" Hicks, 76, of Henrico, born to James V. Hicks and Sara Frances Hicks, passed away on Friday, January 8, 2021. He was preceded in death by his parents and his brother, Daniel W. Hicks. Jimmy retired from the City of Richmond Department of Fire and Emergency Services as a firefighter and served honorably in the Air National Guard during Vietnam. He was a member of the VFW. Jimmy enjoyed making ice cream for all of his family members’ birthdays. Left to cherish his memory is his wife of 54 years, Karen P. Hicks; children, Michael Hicks (Rhonda), Scott Hicks (Michelle), Tara Wright (Mickey), Kristine Hicks (Daniel), Erin Sutton (Lawrence), James Hicks and Jordan Hicks (Allyson); grandchildren, Rhieanna, Jacob, Abbey, Robert, Rachel, Ben, Zack, Ethan, Grant, Shiloh, Ryan, Carlie, Cody, Faylee, Nicholas, Morgan, Finn and Mea; brother, Gerald “Jerry” Hicks; and a multitude of other family members and friends. The family will receive friends on Thursday, January 14, 2021 and Friday, January 15, 2021 from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. at Nelsen Funeral Home, 4650 S.
