

PIGNINELLI, James, 66 of Sandston, VA passed away on June 7, 2015. He was preceded in death by his father, Philip Pigninelli. Jimmy was a retired business owner and attended Carlisle Ave. Baptist Church. He is survived by his wife of 16 years, Sheila O. Pigninelli; mother, Catherine Pigninelli; mother-in-law, Lindy Oakley; daughter, Suzanne (Jim) O’Shea, son, James J (Kimberly), step-son, James G. Harvey (Lisa), step-daughter, Stacie H. Breaker; grandchildren, Dylan, Tyler and Myracle Pigninelli, Kendyl and Jacob Harvey, and Jayla Bullock; brother, Anthony (Marisa) Pigninelli; niece, Lauren Pigninelli, nephew, A.J. Pigninelli, sister and brother-in-law, Cheryl and Frank Beamer, Virginia Tech Football teammates; along with numerous aunts, uncles, and cousins. Jimmy fought a brave, courageous battle with cancer for 11 years. He was born in Hackensack, NJ and was raised on Nolton Street Belleville, NJ. Upon high school graduation, he attended Virginia Tech on a football scholarship where he was captain of the team his senior year. Virginia Tech football was his love and passion. Second only to Virginia Tech were the New York Mets, New York Jets and Giants. The material things in life were not important to Jimmy. His family and their wellbeing were everything. A visitation will be held on Wednesday, June 10, 2015 from 2-4 & 6-8pm at Nelsen Funeral Home, 4650 S. Laburnum Ave. Richmond. Services will be held on Thursday, June 11, 2015 at 11:00am at the Carlisle Ave. Baptist Church, 2010 Carlisle Ave. Richmond. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to American Cancer Society or Virginia Tech Football, indoor practice facility.
