THIMSEN, James Albert, left this world on May 27, 2019, to joyfully join his wife Betty, parents Albert and Louise, sister Claudia, and many other beloved family members already in heaven. He is survived by his son Mitchell (Lee Ann), daughter Theresa (Dave), brother Gary (Nell) and granddaughters Kaitie and Kelly. They will miss him with all their hearts until the day they are reunited. He enjoyed early adulthood serving in the U.S. Navy on the guided missile cruiser U.S.S. Canbera, learning his trade. He worked side-by-side with Betty to raise a family and build his business, Mechanism Design. He was an active supporter of the VHS Band and VICA program, and held memberships in the Society of Manufacturing Engineers, Fishing Bay Yacht Club, and Deltaville Maritime Museum. Jim and Betty traveled the world together, and made many friends in Richmond and later in Deltaville. Jim was an accomplished machinist, industrial designer, boat designer and builder.
