Joyce Wood Frizzell

She was preceded in death by her husband, George W. Frizzell, Jr.; son, Gregory S. Frizzell; mother, Mary G. Wood; father, Edward Wood; sister, Dorothy Wood; and brother, Edward Wood Jr.

She is survived by son, George W. Frizzell IV (Iva); grandsons, Michael Frizzell (Sharon); Christopher Frizzell (Shannon); great-grandsons, Ryan Frizzell (Christina) and Cameron Frizzell; great-great granddaughter, Iris Frizzell; step-great-great grandson, Daxton Binns; step-great-grandchildren, Kendall, William (Grace) and Jessica Binns.

Joy was # 7 of the “Sandston 7”, friends since grade school and have kept in touch since childhood. Joy was a member of the Sandston Presbyterian Church since birth and a member of the Highland Springs Garden Club. She was also a founding member of the Sandston Founders Club. Joy worked 25 years with C&P Telephone and Bell Atlantic Telephone Company.

The family will receive friends on Tuesday, April 4, from 6 to 8p.m. at Nelsen Funeral Home, 4650 S. Laburnum Ave., Richmond, Va. 23231.

Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. on Wednesday, April 5, at Sandston Presbyterian Church, 13 N. Confederate Ave., Sandston, Va. 23150.

Interment will follow in Washington Memorial Park.
