HAYNES, Louis Edward “Herman”, 86, of Charles City County, passed away July 15, 2016. He served in the United States Army 180th infantry during the Korean War, where he earned a Purple Heart. Louis was a retired pipefitter for the City of Richmond, and a member of Willis United Methodist Church. He enjoyed being a member of the Glendale Ruritan Club, cherished time with his grandchildren, and his enthusiasm for life meant he never met a stranger. He was preceded in death by his beloved wife, May Haynes. He is survived by his daughters, Rebecca Stewart (Julian), Christine Mahone (Charlie), and Jennifer Richardson (Doug); grandchildren, Amanda (Ernie), Bobby (Jocelyn), Josh, Scott (Savannah), Casey, and Taylor; great-grandchildren, Kayla, Autumn, Hayes, and Raif; great-great grandchild, Amory; and devoted companion, Fritz. Visitation will be held at Nelsen Funeral Home Laburnum on Tuesday, July 19, 2016 from 2 to 4 pm and 6 to 8 pm and services will be held Wednesday, July 20, 2016 at 11 am with interment to follow at Washington Memorial Park.
