Lucille was born on April 9, 1937, to the late Elizabeth and Sam Dowdy of Cumberland, VA.
She is preceded in death by her sisters: Edith Parker and Bernice Wootton; brother,John Dowdy.
Lucille is survived by her children: Florence Haley, Gregory Hensley, Anthony Hensley (Ginger)and Diane Mitchell (Steve); five grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren and 2 Great-great grandchildren; Sisters: Margaret Wilkerson and Brenda Ratcliffe; and a host of nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends Wednesday, May 28, 2025 from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Nelsen Funeral Home, 4650 South Laburnum Avenue, Richmond, VA 23231. A graveside service will occur Thursday, May 29, 2025 at 3:00 PM at Washington Memorial Park, 6217 Memorial Dr, Sandston, VA 23150.
