KIMMEY, Madaline Mae Childress, (“Granny”) 91, Beloved Mother, Mother In Law, Grandmother, Great Grandmother, Aunt and Friend, of Chesterfield, formerly of Henrico, Virginia, left to join her Heavenly Family on Saturday, June 22, 2019, after a courageous battle with cancer. She has been reunited in Heaven with her son, Billy Kimmey, her infant daughter, Sharon Kimmey. Madaline is survived by her children, Dottie Yancey (Dean), and Thomas Kimmey (Susan); her Grandchildren, Will Kimmey, (Laura), Ashley Sheridan, John and Deanna Yancey, Amber Gary (Shay) and Heather Kimmey; her Great Grandchildren, Lexi Sheridan, Tyson and Caroline Kimmey, and Michelle and Mariana Gary. She is also survived by her special cat friend, Punkie and her Great Grand Dogs Kasey, Houndy, Spike and Emma. She was retired from Media General after 22 years in the Subscriber Relations Department. She was a lifelong caregiver for her children and grandchildren, her 3 sisters and her beloved son, Billy. Madaline was a longtime member of Hardy Central Baptist Church and her Church Family was very special to her. She enjoyed music (hymns and country music, with George Strait, Alan Jackson and Elvis Presley), crossword puzzles, reading novels and Western films. At the age of 91 she was still very “sharp”. She enjoyed playing Bingo and scratch off tickets. She liked black cherry ice cream and homemade wine every now and then as she said, “It made her sleep better”. She loved her Family and proudly wore a tee shirt that said “If I had known grandchildren were so much fun, I would have had them first.” Her love, strength, wisdom, kindness, humor and deep affection for her Family and Friends will be forever cherished. A visitation will be held from 2 to 4 p.m. and 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday, June 27, 2019 at Nelsen Funeral Home where services will be held Friday June 28, 2019 at 11:30 a.m. Interment at Washington Memorial Park.
