Mildred E. Scherer Bell, 89, of Sandston, passed away on Wednesday, February 6, 2019. She attended Highland Springs High School and was a member of Poplar Springs Baptist Church for 59 years where she sang in the choir for over 30 years. Mildred was a devoted wife to her husband and mother to her six children and numerous foster children. She was preceded in death by her son, Clarence Bell, Jr. and husband, Clarence Bell, Sr. She is survived by her children, Phyllis Look (Neal), Brenda Pence (Roger), Gail Fleming (Ken), Mary Bell, Kathy Dail (Dean); seven grandchildren, Crystal Mundie (Mark), Jennifer Tinnel, Melissa Bell, Teresa Bell, Ashley Bell, Paul Bell (Sarah) and Andrea Jackson (Joel); eleven great grandchildren; sister-in-law, Jean Bell, and brother-in-law, Leonard Bell (Jean). The family will receive friends on Sunday, Feb. 10, from 2-4pm at Nelsen Funeral Home, 4650 S. Laburnum Ave., Richmond, VA 23231. A service will be held Monday, Feb. 11, at 11am at Poplar Springs Baptist Church, 5270 Charles City Road, Henrico, VA 23231. Interment will be in Washington Memorial Park.
