Miriam L. Whitlock

WHITLOCK, Miriam Lytton Sanders Jeter "Micky", 87, widow of Hunter B. Whitlock Sr. passed away on April 6, 2015 after a long illness. She was born on November 20, 1927 in Richmond, VA. She was preceded in death by her parents, Hallie and Willis Sanders; sister, Frances Covington; brother, William Sanders; granddaughter, Renee Thompson; stepson, Hunter, Jr.; and her first husband, Ira Thomas Jeter. Micky is survived by nine children, Tom, Jeff (Linda), Mark, Kevin, Al, Tim Jeter, Cathy Jeter Rhodes, Pat Jeter Thompson, Connie Jeter Pardue (Ray); stepchildren, Thomas Jesse Whitlock (Brenda), Muriel W. Jenness (Frank), and Hunter Jr.’s wife, Phyllis; 17 grandchildren and 22 great grandchildren. Micky was a navy wife for many years, raising her family in Virginia Beach and Norfolk areas, eventually moving back to Richmond, VA where she met and married Hunter. She loved gardening, raising many vegetables and beautiful flowers. Her greatest love was to have family and friends around her. The family will receive friends on Friday, April 10, 2015 from 4 – 8pm. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, April 11, 2015 at 11:00am. All services will be held at Nelsen Funeral Home, 4650 S. Laburnum Ave. Burial will follow at Washington Memorial Park.
