He was preceded in death by his parents, Norman & Myrtle DesRoches; and brothers David DesRoches, and Brian DesRoches.
He is survived by his ex-wife & best friend, Diane DesRoches; children Bonnie Jean Whitt (Jimmy); grandchildren, Hailey Whitt and Ashley Whitt.
Richard (Ricky) retired from Suburban propane. His hobbies included, fishing, golfing and watching college basketball; he was a VA Cavaliers fan.
He was a Vietnam Veteran; Serving in the US Navy on USS Constalation from June 1970 -June 1972.
The family will be holding a memorial service at Washington Memorial Cemetery at a later date.
