Ruby May Parker

Ruby May Parker, age 101, went to her Eternal Rest on April 14, 2014. She was predeceased by her mother and father, Mary and Harry Parker, her twin brother, Clyde Parker, her sister, Goldie Tyler, and her beloved nephew, Larkin Tyler. She was a long-time member of Calvary United Methodist Church, where her lovely alto voice was lifted in praise to God and where her piano skills graced numerous Sunday School classes. She will be missed, especially by her dear friend, Emily Wright Oakley. Ruby retired from Markel Corporation in 1976. She was a resident of Richmond all her life and spent her final years at The Hermitage. Services will be held at Nelson Funeral Home, Laburnum Chapel, at 1:30 on Thursday, April 17, with visitation beginning at 1:00.
