Douglas Shave

It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of Douglas Shave, age 73, on October 9, 2026, at home, peacefully and surrounded by family and friends who loved him.

Doug has now been reunited with the love of his life , his beloved wife, Marlene.

He is also predeceased by his brothers Gary, and John, and his mother Elsie.

He leaves behind with a broken heart his daughter, Terri-Lee Masters (Shave)

He also leaves behind his son,

Christopher ( Shave) Pace (Erin)

as well as his cherished grandchildren-

Erianna-Rose and Emma-Jeanne Masters, Juliet Pace , Kyle Pace, and Tyler Pace.

Though Doug was not part of his daughter Carrie Small (Shave) and grandson Wesley’s lives, he carried an unwavering love for them in his heart until the very end.

He will be lovingly remembered and missed by his brother Harry Shave (Marsha) and sister Elaine Shlinkler, and his step brother John Henry .

Doug also leaves behind many nieces, nephews, extended family members, and countless friends whose lives were touched by his humour and his presence.

Doug was one of a kind. He lived his life in his own way, with his own personality, humour, and strong sense of self. He had a way of leaving an impression on the people around him, and those who knew him will carry their memories of Doug for years to come. His life may have come to an end, but his stories, laughter, stubbornness, humour, and the memories he created with the people around him will live on.

In the end, he left this earth just as he lived it—brave and on his own terms. Surrounded by the people he loved, with his daughter holding his hand, he was able to leave this world and say goodbye in the way that was right for him.

His absence will leave an enormous space in the hearts of those who knew and loved him. Doug will be sorely missed, deeply remembered, and forever loved.
