The History of Williams Funeral Services

The history of Williams Funeral Services dates back to 1909, when Harry B. Dell arrived in Ridgeway with $50, an embalming diploma and a vision to serve local families. What started as a small storefront offering both furniture and funeral services steadily grew as the Dell Funeral Home became a trusted presence in the community. Between 1909 and 1931, the family expanded the business and moved several times to accommodate its growth.

After a series of ownership changes, the funeral home was renamed Clendening Funeral Home in 1961 and was later purchased by Larry and Lorraine Williams in 1978. The current Ridge Road North location was dedicated in 1987, marking a new era of service and expansion. In 2013, the funeral home joined the Benner Funeral Services family and adopted the name Williams Funeral Services. Through every chapter, one thing has remained constant: our commitment to caring for families with dignity and compassion.
