

Joco passed away peacefully at home in Ridgeway, Ontario on April 8th, 2026. Beloved husband and best friend to his wife Katie. Son of the late John and Edna Straiton. He is survived by his wife Kathleen Straiton, beloved son Alexander (Jenna), beloved daughter Ashley (Liam), and granddaughters Sistine and Scotia. Dearly remembered by sister Shirley Toth, niece Julie Toth and the late Mike Toth and his most cherished sister in law, Tricia Black "Gooch". Also survived by his sister and brother in laws Madonna and Greg Filipowitz and their children Ryan, Katie and Kelly, and by his sister and brother in law Susan and Andrew Heglin and children, Kristen and Mary. He is predeceased by his brother, the late David Straiton and his late mother in law, Tricia Higgins Black and father in laws Jack Black and Vince Dunn.
Joco loved his family above all else. He was immensely proud of his two children, Alex and Ashley, who brought him such joy and love. Joco loved life and entertaining, cooking hundreds of meals over the years for family and friends at their family home in Bay Beach, along with his wife, Katie. He was an avid gardener and was famous for growing his Italian beans on the beach. Joco was a #1 Yankees fan throughout his life. He was also an actor in little theater. Joco was the original "beacher" and is known as the unofficial "Mayor of Crystal Beach". He will be greatly missed by this town and his family and friends. God bless our Joco.
Visitation will take place on Tuesday April 14, 2026 at Williams Funeral Services (722 Ridge Rd N, Ridgeway) from 2:00 PM until 6:00 PM. A Funeral Mass will commence on Wednesday April 15, 2026 at 11:00 AM at St. George Catholic Church, Crystal Beach. Cremation to follow.
