After a long and courageous journey, LeRoy passed away peacefully on Friday September 25th, 2026 in his 80th year, surrounded by his family.
His deep faith in Jesus Christ was reflected in the many ways he served his church, family, and individuals in the community. He generously offered his time, encouragement, wisdom, and practical help wherever it was needed.
Born in Stevensville on August 1st 1947, LeRoy spent 40 years working in the printing industry, predominantly as an offset pressman.
Family was at the heart of LeRoy’s life. LeRoy is lovingly remembered by his wife Karen (nee Beach); daughters Heather (Clarke) Fretz, Melissa (Peter) Toews, and Andrea (Jason) Natale; grandchildren Jennifer (Andrew) Kearley, Bethany Toews, Levi (Katie) Fretz, Joshua (Kara) Toews, Caleb Fretz, Lauren Natale, and Rachel Natale; great-grandchildren Noah Kearley and Matthew Fretz; sister Linda (Stewart) Ruffley; and sister-in-law Mable Nix. He will be missed by many nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
Predeceased by his parents Bruce and Edna Nix, brother Robert Nix, father-in-law Howard Beach, mother-in-law Viola Beach, and brother-in-law Craig Beach.
The family wishes to extend their thanks to the third floor staff at the Welland Hospital for the compassionate care provided to him during his last days. They are also deeply grateful to their church, family, friends, and neighbours for the many years of love, prayers, encouragement, and care they so faithfully shared.
Visitation will be held at Trinitylife Church located at 5348 Sherkston Road East, Sherkston on Friday October 16th from 6:00 to 9:00 pm, and Saturday October 17th from 9:30 to 10:30 am. A celebration of life will begin at 11:00 am followed by interment in the adjoining cemetery.
The service will be recorded and a video link will be made available here in the days following the funeral for those who are unable to attend.
