Dear Arthur C. Wasek family,
Leanna and I were so sorry to hear of your Dad’s passing.  Our thoughts and prayers are with you at this time.  The passing of a parent is one of the most difficult losses one experiences in life, and when the end comes and is in sight, you never fully accept it until it happens. 

It must be close to 40 years ago that I first met Mr. Wasek when invited to the Wasek home not long after I met Greg at college at Lawrence Technological University and we became college buddies.

Your dad was a great man, and I will always remember him as a very loving family man, who liked fun times and family get togethers.  He had a great sense of humor,  loved a good joke, and I'll always remember his infectious jolly laugh that came from his belly.

We extend our sincerest condolences to you, and pray that you can take comfort in the knowledge that your dad has gone on to Heaven to be with our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.  May the Lord give you comfort and peace and bless your family at this time.

I have so many fond memories of Mr. Wasek. Once, when I was in High School, I was at his house visiting with his son, Steve (I was always hanging around back then.) Mr. Wasek came home from work and without saying much, went out into the backyard. I saw him silently walking laps around the lawn. This was not like him, so I went out. He stopped walking. “Bad day?” I asked. Mr. Wasek looked around his yard and paused. “Just reminding myself why I do it,” he said. After a few minutes, he came back into the house. He was his usual jovial self. This showed what a really good man he was. Others might have left work in a foul mood and spread that feeling around. But, Mr. Wasek simply took a few minutes to compose himself. He realized I think, that the sacrifices he made in life were worth the benefits: a beautiful home, a meaningful career, and most of all, a loving family. In all the years I knew him, I cannot recall one moment of him being angry or sullen. He was always polite and outgoing. He always asked how I was and how I was doing in school. He asked about my family. I did understand then, but I see now that such men as Mr. Wasek were helping me to be a better man when it was my turn to be an adult. For all the life lessons I learned from you, Mr. Wasek, a heartfelt thanks. The world has lost a very good man. But the legacy he left behind will long endure. Rest in peace, kind sir.

Dad.  He was the eternal optimist, always promoting cheer and good will. He wanted everyone to be happy and to get along together. First to hug hello, first to laugh at a joke. He even liked clothing to have cheery colors. He had a tender heart, and if he saw the pain of others, it pained him. He loved books about World War II, Russia, and historical novels, and took a fancy to the No. 1 Ladies Detective Agency novels in his later years, reading all of the series. He loved classical music, marching bands, and beer-drinking songs. He loved his adventures in the army and first told them to me when he would give us little kids back rubs before bed. Ever the engineer, he taught me fractions in the first grade and the hardening properties of cement under water when dropping me off at college. I shall miss him sorely.

Louise & I heart's we're deeply sadden to hear that your father passed away.  Our thoughts & prayers go out to you and your family, as you mourn the loss of your dad.
It's hard losing one so dear, but take solace in knowing that your father is in the loving arms our Lord & Savior Jesus Christ in Heaven and is at peace.
In closing, we pray that the Lord will watch over you, give you peace & comfort that passes all understanding during this difficult time.

My grandfather Arthur was one of a kind. He helped make me the man I am today. I would not be the person I am without his inspiration. Ever since I can remember, I would always spend hours of time with him in his workshop learning things from him and helping him with projects. With all his stories of him being in the Army, it inspired me to join the Marine Corps to proudly serve as he did. I was able to be very close to him during his final months, still being able to hear all of his stories from life. Life will never be the same without him but he made a loving impact on all of his children and grandchildren. He will be dearly missed. Love you so much papa. Rest easy, you deserve it.
