Sending prayers to the family at this very sad time. Bette was a very important person in my life. I called her mom because she was more of a mother to me than my mom. She was there for me in the darkest moments of my life. She knew I needed the love and attention that only a mother can give and she gave it freely and completely.  She included me in their family Christmas celebration for several years when I couldn't spend it with my family.  Bette and I would go to retail stores to see if they would buy or take on consignment a product she developed for hands free cellphones. It never mattered if we made a sale, we would always go out to celebrate with a cocktail and talk and laugh.  She made such an impact on my life and I will always be grateful and blessed to have had her in my life. Bette you are loved and will be missed. Thank you to my closest friend Patti for sharing your mom with me.  Rest in peace mom.

Bette would always share her books with me because we both liked to read. A very kind and special lady. Our deepest sympathies to all of her family and friends. She will be missed.

Betty and Paul Hare were our next-door neighbors for nearly 50 years. Our families became amazing, close friends over the years. Patti Hare became my best friend and because of that, I formed a special bond with Mrs. Hare. It was just so easy to cross the lawn between our houses and pop my head into the side door. Mrs. Hare always welcomed me warmly with a big hug. 
As the years went on, when Mrs. Hare was living in her big house all by herself, my father always made sure to check on Bette. She clearly appreciated Jim and Alice Stock’s friendship.  
Her memory will be held near in our hearts. 
I am fortunate to still be best friends with Patti.

The first time we visited Michigan, Ross and Jayne took us to the boat show. Upon arrival, we met the sisters and were greeted with 'Effie and Lombard'!  We looked at each other and said, no we're Mark and Cathy.  Patti and Michelle responded with,  Mom said your names were Effie and Lombard and so we were. 
Miss Bette, you had the best sense of humor. ❤️

Bette was a sweetheart, to care for..   She loved her family dearly, spoke fondly of her children, Mom and brothers…She loved and missed Chico, spoke often of her fondness of animals…She was happiest being warm, having coffee, listening to Elvis.    I will miss her dearly….   Marilyn
