

PEARSON, Carl, age 90, passed away February 28, 2016, resident of Rochester and Rochester Hills since 1960. Beloved husband of Doris M. Pearson for 68 years. Carl was the proud father of Eric S. (Karen) Pearson, of South Lyon; Mark A. (Deborah) Pearson, of Wellington, New Zealand; and Brian T. (Laura) Pearson, of Milford. Also surviving are his beloved grandchildren: Scott M. Pearson of Rochester Hills, Thomas C. Pearson, of Ann Arbor; Rennie J. Pearson, of Wellington, New Zealand; and Alanah M. Pearson, of Wellington, New Zealand. Carl was born in Sarasota, FL, February 1, 1926, the only child of Carl O. and Mary Ruth Pearson. He graduated from Pontiac HS in 1943, and joined the US Army Air Corps during WWII. He later earned a Bachelor’s Degree in Industrial Engineering at the General Motors Institute, now Kettering University, co-oping at Fisher Body Pontiac Plant. He served as a class agent for the GMI class of 1950. Carl and Doris M. Sasse married at Central Methodist Church, Pontiac, on April 24, 1948. They joined St. Paul’s Methodist Church in 1960 after moving to Rochester. Carl was employed in several capacities with the Fisher Body and Buick-Olds-Cadillac Divisions of GM for 40 years. Carl was a past member of Rochester Elks, member of the engineering society of Detroit, charter member of Brookwood Golf Club, charter and past member of Heart of the Hills Swim Club. He was also a long-time scouting advisor for troop 188 when his sons were active Boy Scouts. He was an avid golfer, seasoned traveler, and enjoyed playing bridge and poker. Memorial Service 11 AM Wednesday, March 9, 2016 at Pixley Funeral Home, 322 W. University Dr., in downtown Rochester. Visitation at 9:45 until start of service at the funeral home.
