

Charles F. Sibert, 94, of Rochester, passed away on October 31, 2015. he was born in Fruitport, MI on December 18, 1920. The Sibert family moved to Rochester in September 1924. He graduated from Albion College in 1942, where he was a member of Tau Kappa Epsilon and involved in debate and numerous other activities. He served in the US Army from August 25, 1942 to January 9, 1946. After being discharged, he attended Columbia University's School of Law in NY for a year, when he married and transferred to Wayne State University's School of Law, receiving his J.D. in 1949.
Mr. Sibert practiced law in Rochester and was very involved in the sale of residential and commercial real estate in Rochester, and throughout the state of Michigan as an attorney and the broker of his real estate company, CS Realty, Inc.
Mr. Sibert was a charter member of the Rochester Board of Realtors, the Rochester Bar Association, and a Fellow of the Michigan State Bar Foundation. He was a member of First Congregational Church United Church of Christ where he sang in the choir for many years. He was a voracious reader, avid tennis player, skilled scrabble player, who also enjoyed bridge and cribbage, and worked out twice weekly and took daily walks in to his nineties.
Brother of Kate Elizabeth Sibert, Evelyn Faye Sibert, and Ruth S. Walley; father of Charles M. "Marty" (Sarah) Sibert; grandfather of Charles A. Sibert and Ian T. Sibert; uncle of Dr. Charles S. Lucas, Dr. Phillip R. Lucas, and Shirley Lucas; and great-uncle of Darby Travers, Heather Lucas Whitson, Andria Overstreet, and Dr. Christopher Charles Lucas.
