Cliff was born in Detroit Michigan, to Clifford F. and Arlene A. Beyer, on June 6, 1954. He graduated from Henry Ford High School in 1972, eventually obtaining his bachelor’s in business administration from Walsh College. Cliff spent 41 years in retail management at Sears, followed by 7 years as a materials manager for the Beaumont Hospital system.
Throughout his life, Cliff was a cherished friend to all who had the privilege of knowing him. From his childhood friends with whom he shared his love of skiing and hockey, to the neighbors who admired his kindness, wit and antics, he was always there with a helping hand and a warm smile. As an adult, his circle of friends continued to grow, and he was the person everyone could rely on—whether for a moment of laughter, sharing a glass of bourbon or a beer, attending a concert, or taking one last run on the ski hill. He valued every friendship deeply and was a loyal friend to all, making a lasting impact in the lives of everyone he met.
As much as Cliff was a loyal friend, he was an even more devoted family man. He shared a special bond with his sisters, sisters-in-law, and brothers-in-law (whom he truly considered to be brothers), offering love and laughter in every interaction. Together, Cliff and his wife Laura built a life filled with shared dreams, laughter, and unwavering support. As a father, he was a constant source of guidance, wisdom, and unconditional love. His children were his pride and joy, and he made sure to always be present for them, setting an example of what it means to live with integrity, kindness, and love. Family meant everything to him, and he gave his heart fully to those he loved.
Cliff had a zest for life that shone through in everything he did. He had a deep passion for skiing, and some of his happiest memories were made on the ski hill, surrounded by family and friends. Whether he was carving down the slopes or sharing a warm drink with loved ones at the lodge, those days spent on the mountain were his absolute favorite. Beyond skiing, Cliff had a sincere appreciation for the finer things in life, including a good bourbon and beer. His love for life’s simple pleasures was also reflected in his admiration for the music of Jimmy Buffett. His carefree spirit and sense of adventure were captured in every song, and his enthusiasm for a ‘Margaritaville’ lifestyle brought joy to all who shared in it. Whether on the slopes or enjoying a sunset with a drink in hand, Cliff lived life to the fullest, with a heart full of love for his family, friends, and the things that brought him happiness.
Cliff is survived by his loving wife of 37 years, Laura, their three children: Sean (Kierstin) Beyer, Beth (Austin) Ksoll, and Devin Beyer, as well as his newborn grandson, Banks Thomas Beyer. Cliff is also survived by his sister Deborah (Dennis) Herveou, brother-in-law, Richard Swaine, sister Kathy (Paul) Switzer, as well as many nieces, nephews, and beloved in-laws.
Cliff is preceded in death by his parents, as well as his sister Erin Lee Swaine.
