

Fr. Daniel (James) Homan, O.S.B., age 68, died August 9, 2011; born August 23, 1942 in Detroit, Michigan; member of the Silvestrian – Benedictine Order since 1960 at St. Benedict Monastery, Oxford, Michigan; ordained to the Roman Catholic Priesthood on June 7, 1969. Fr. Daniel was a former associate pastor of St. Scholastica Parish, Detroit, Michigan and former Conventual Prior of the order in America from 1990-2009. Most known, cherished and loved as the founder of Subiaco Retreat House, Oxford, where he ministered to thousands of youth for the past 36 years; Father Daniel is the son of the late Frank and Elizabeth Homan and brother to the late Lisa Homan; brother of John (Julie) Homan, Martin (Sharon) Homan, Clare (John) Baxter and Mary (Lawrence) Paruch; uncle of Michelle (John), Jennifer (Craig), Brian (Kristin), Heather (Jason), Brendan (Ellen), Amy, Nicholas, Mellissa and 15 great nieces and nephews.
