Fr.Dan was a man who was always able to show compassion and look for the goodness in everyone. He could look beyond the walls behind which I hid, create a door, draw me out into the world where others resided too. He taught me that I had a reason to be there; had something to offer. He showed through example how to make life be ABOUT something. Forty years later, it's stlll important for me to attempt to pass on the sense of being lovable to my special needs students. It was so long ago, yet it seemed like yesterday when Fr. Dan helped to germinate the seed that would flower into 36 years of work my husband and I have done with young people.  My most precious memory is when I came with the young adult group from St. Kieran in Shelby Township and spent a weekend onsite to make the first floor pillows for the retreat house.  The love and encouragement we received from Fr. Dan and the other Benedictines left an indelible mark on all of us.  A lot of time has passed and yet, the majority of that group still stays in touch.  I praise and thank God for his life, his love, and ministry.

We are so sorry we missed Fr. Dan's memorial Mass.  We just found out obout the loss of this God loving man. Fr. Dan worked hard to promote human life. He gave the youth of our community strong, powerful tools for them to survive in the unhealthy ungodly world they needs to grow up in today.  He will be missed.  May God Bless him and his family, both personal and Benedictine.

Every time I walked away from Father Dan, no matter when the last time I had seen him, he said he loved me. It's been a while since I saw him and I regret that.

Fr. Dan Homan was the nicest person we ever met.  He was always there for everyone who needed him.  He was always there in the good times and the bad times in our lives.
A perfect example of a priest as well as a good friend.  He will be greatly missed.

Fr. Dan was one of the nicest people I had the pleasure and honor to meet. He was there for me and my family when we needed help most. Someone to talk to and to comfort you. May God hold you in his hands forever. We will remember you always.

Fr. Dan was the nicest person I ever met.  He was such a good example for everyone who knew him.  Always had time to listen and help as only he could.

He will be greatly missed.
