Frank B Vega

Francio Bonilla Vega (Frank B. Vega), age 94, of Waterford, Michigan, peacefully passed away on August 1, 2023, surrounded by his loving family. He was born in Ponce, Puerto Rico on April 2, 1929, to Librado Bonilla and Julia Vega. He was happily married to his wife, Rosa Maria Vega, for 63 years. Francio worked for 35 years in the pattern department as a mold maker at the Pontiac Central Foundry. Upon his retirement from the automotive industry, Francio enjoyed volunteering, spending time with his grandchildren and making deliveries of Rosa’s delightful cuisine to the local Puerto Rican community.

Francio had a passion for his faith and God and was a long-standing member of La Luz Del Mundo church located in Pontiac, Michigan, where he was known to dress stylishly, and was always a joy. He also had a passion for Puerto Rican music, and especially Spanish hymns and corridos, which he would proudly display while playing his quatro, his guiro, his harmonica or his accordion.

Francio was predeceased in death by his beloved wife Rosa Maria Vega on August 5, 2017, his daughter Elizabeth Mary Sanders (Dante) on April 1, 2019, and his grandson Francio M. Vega on February 7, 2023. He is survived by his daughter Norma Jones (Dennis), son John Vega, daughter Julie Bundra, daughter Linda Tribble (Paul), and daughter Angelina Cummins (Richard), and his beloved 13 grandchildren, and 18 great grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held at Pixley Funeral Home located at 322 W. University Drive, Rochester, Michigan, the Rev. Ezequiel Torres officiating. The family will welcome friends on Monday, August 7, 2023, for visitation from 12:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. A short prayer service will take place on Monday, August 7, 2023, from 6:00 p.m. until 6:30 p.m. Visitation will continue on Tuesday, August 8, 2023, from 11:00 a.m. until the services begin at 12:00 p.m. Friends are welcome to follow in procession to attend the burial at Christian Memorial Gardens located at 521 E. Hamlin Road, Rochester Hills, Michigan immediately following the funeral services.
