George was born in Greece in 1945, the son of Konstantine J. and Helen (Doureka) Prapas. George married Babara Shaw in 1971 and they raised their son Konstantine in Rochester. George worked at the Clinton BBQ, Gus's Coney Island, the Mack 7, Archey's , and Greek Town before opening the popular Krazy Greek restaurant he operated from 1975 to 2026 in downtown Rochester.
George is survived by Barbara Prapas, Konstantine Prapas, Efthalia and Demetrios (Liana) Prapas, and many nieces and nephews, and was preceded in death by John, Aristidis, Poulios, Sirago Prapas, and Konstantine J. and Helen (Doureka) Prapas.
Visitation will be held at Pixley Funeral Home, 322 W. University Dr., Rochester, Michigan 48307, on March 3, 2026, from 1:00 pm to 4:30 pm, and again on March 3, 2026, from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm, and on March 4, 2026, from 10:00 am to 11:00 am.
A funeral service will be held at Pixley Funeral Home, 322 W. University Dr., Rochester, Michigan 48307, on March 4, 2026, at 11:00 am, with interment at Mount Avon Cemetery in Rochester, Michigan, following the funeral service.
