GEORGE, Glenn Russell, 70, of Rochester Hills, MI passed away on September 22, 2018 after a courageous battle with mesothelioma. He was the loving husband of Marilyn George for 50 years; beloved father of Lorie Sue (Steven) Gornick, Amy Noel (Bryan) Hackett, and Angela Mae (David) Hartway; beloved grandfather of Glenn Lee Cloud, Natalie Marilyn Sue Cloud, Owen Michael Grigsby, Vivien Grace Dillen, and Abigail Mae Hartway; and brother of, Carol Campbell. Glenn retired from Iron Workers Local 25, served in the U.S. Navy aboard the USS Franklin D. Roosevelt for three and a half years. He was a devoted, wonderful, loving husband, father, and grandfather. Glenn loved spending time with each and every one of his family members, and he was so proud of them. He was an amazing self-taught wood worker, who could build and re-model anything in his home and did work for many other friends as well. Glenn loved working outdoors, having a beautiful, well-kept yard was another one of his hobbies. He served for many years as a teacher in Sunday school and church, teaching children and adults. He was also a deacon and the facilities manager at Grace Hills Evangelical Church and at Doxa Church in Rochester Hills. Glenn loved people; he was gifted with a humor and wit that endeared him to all who knew him. His greatest accomplishment was his relationship with his Lord and savior, Jesus Christ, whom he is now with. Visitation will be held Wednesday, September 26, 2018 from 1 to 3 p.m. & 5 to 8 p.m. at Pixley Funeral Home, 322 W. University Dr., Rochester, MI. A Funeral Service will be held on Thursday, September 27, 2018 at 11 a.m., with gathering beginning at 10 a.m. until time of service, at Doxa Church, 3821 S. Adams Rd., Rochester Hills, MI.
