Bob moved to Michigan before his teens with his mom and stepfather, Fred Baker. He graduated from St. John's High School and then set out for a life of exploration.
Bob led a life of adventure and intellect. As a Merchant Marine, he traveled the world, experiencing diverse cultures and broadening his perspective. He spent most of his adult years in the Houston area before relocating to Pontiac, Michigan in 2015 to be closer to his siblings to lovingly harass them, which he did with enthusiasm.
A passionate reader and history enthusiast, Bob possessed a wealth of knowledge that made him an engaging conversationalist. His extensive travels and love for learning often made him the most insightful person in any room.
Bob is survived by his siblings Herb Baker, sister Julie Johncock her husband Richard, and sister Martie DuBois and her husband Marc. He will be deeply missed, especially by his family, who cherished him as a beloved older brother, and also by his long-term friends in Houston and his newer friends from his Elmhaven community.
His memory will live on in the hearts of those who shared in his journey.
