Janice was born on September 24, 1951 in Berkley, Michigan to loving parents Boris and Phyllis Belenky. She graduated from Berkley High School in 1969. She became a stay-at-home mom to her two children, Craig and Stephanie (from a first marriage), before obtaining multiple real estate certifications in the 1980s. In 1985, she married David Arthur Busch (daughter, Meghan), blending their family of five at the start of what would be 39 devoted years of marriage.
Her greatest role was mother to Craig, Stevie and Meghan, attending countless basketball games, driving them to school, giving them unforgettable Christmases, and providing year after year of advice and unwavering support.
Janice was powerful in business, exceedingly gracious in hospitality, and unconditional in love. As a partner at Snyder, Kinney, Bennett and Keating in Birmingham, Michigan, she served as a financial officer and mentor to many. Janice was known for her exceptional adeptness at entertaining guests. She took pleasure in reading, in caring for her beloved pups, Chloe, Willie, and Wilma, and in traveling, recalling with special fondness her memories of a trip to Italy. During these years, Janice also fought breast cancer twice and promoted awareness by participating in a Susan G. Komen 3-Day Walk. Still, she prioritized supporting her family in any way they needed her.
In retirement, Janice was exceptionally admirable in her devotion to her own parents. She also loved floating in her pool, playing Mahjong and Canasta with friends, and taking an occasional trip to the casino. Even as she faced a third bout of cancer following displacement due to Hurricane Ian, she continued steadfastly in her poise, her spirit of generosity, and her penchant for making any space more beautiful.
Janice was predeceased by her parents, Boris and Phyllis Belenky, and her brother-in-law, Richard Phillips. She is survived by her husband, David Busch, her children, Craig (April) Rhoads, Stephanie (David) Rush, and Meghan (Troy) Dryzga, ten beloved grandchildren, her siblings, Sharon Phillips and Steven (Patty) Belenky, and her beloved cousins.
All those she loved and touched deeply are invited to join her family in celebrating her life on Saturday, September 28, 2024 at 10 AM at Pixley Funeral Home in Rochester, Michigan.
