ZELLMAN, Lawrence G., 92, of Rochester Hills, MI, (formerly of Grand Rapids) passed away December 11, 2016. He was born in Elnora, PA on October 7, 1924. Larry graduated from Indiana High School and attended the University of Michigan. Larry proudly served in the Army Air Corp during WWII, where he was a P38 pilot. His service time included being missing in action in Yugoslavia for 153 days. He was honorably discharged on January 6, 1944. Larry was married to Thelta G. Miller on September 4, 1948. He was employed by Wolverine Brass for many years. Larry was a member of the Calvary Church before moving to Rochester Hills. He had a passion for rug hooking, golfing, and reading, and in the summer he enjoyed camping with his family. Larry is survived by his loving wife Thelta Zellman; his children Betsy (Kenneth “Kim”) Eike of Suttons Bay, MI, Bonnie (David) Yates of Bloomfield Hills, MI, and Larry (Vicki) of Camarillo, CA; his grandchildren Tyler, Kimberley, Lindsay, Audre, and Rebecca; and Great-Grandson Gavin. Cremation is to take place and there will be a memorial service being planned for a later date.
