LeRoy D. Taylor; age 87; of Rochester, MI, passed away on November 8, 2013, surrounded by family. Lee will be dearly missed by his loving wife of 65 years, Kappy (nee Marjorie Kathleen Sims), and their children, Barbara and Larry Stringer of Rochester, Douglas and Martha Taylor of Newtown, PA, and David and Lisa Taylor of Traverse City. He is also survived by his seven grandchildren and four great grandchildren, who will always remember the humor, easy-going nature, and devotion of their “Grandpa Lee”.
The son of Irwin and Lena Mae Taylor (nee Plassey), Lee was born in Highland Park, MI and grew up on the eastside of Detroit, where he graduated from Pershing High School. He went on to earn his Bachelor’s degree from the University of Michigan and his Master’s from Wayne State University. As a career engineer and executive with Sperry Vickers, Lee built his life with Kappy in Rochester, where they have been active in the community for decades. As a charter member of the Brookwood Golf Club, Lee was an avid golfer and enjoyed days spent on the links with Kappy and their dear friends. He was also a member of the First Congregational Church of Rochester. In addition to his unwavering love and support, Lee shared his passion for travel, dogs, sports, and reading with his family.
A celebration of his life will be held on November 23, 2013 at the First Congregational Church of Rochester, 1315 Pine St.,
