Lynne Dolores Paquette, age 87, of Rochester Hills, Michigan passed away on Wednesday, September 24, 2025. Lynne was born in Detroit, Michigan on April 15, 1937 and was a graduate of Denby High School. Out of high school, Lynne married Buddy Smola and bore 3 sons Larry, Richard and William. Divorcing in 1972, she returned to Michigan and worked in the Insurance Industry at Citizens Insurance in Howell, MI as an assistant underwriter. While married to Richard Sherwood, she eventually retired from her career and spent more time with family. Later, she met and married Antoine Paquette and the two of them retired to Florida. After his passing she returned to Michigan and the Rochester area which she loved. She was a generous woman who gave her time to those that needed it, volunteering at the Bayonet Point Hospital in Pasco, Florida and at the St. Michaels Food Bank in Hudson, Florida. Lynne also had a eye for design, she was a skilled home decorator. Though she liked her home well decorated, she wasn't afraid of a little cat hair and was a lifelong cat lover.
Lynne is survived by her sons Richard Smola and Larry Smola, her grandchildren Emily Smola, Nicolas Smola, Christopher Smola, and Steven Smola, her brothers Robert Johnson and Lance Johnson and her nieces and nephews Jennifer Evan, Lance Jr. Johnson, Eric Johnson, and Kenneth Johnson.
Lynne was preceded in death by her husband Tony Paquette and her son William Smola.
A visitation for Lynne will be held Sunday, September 28, 2025 from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Pixley Funeral Home, 322 West University Drive, Rochester, MI 48307. Her funeral service will take place the following day on Monday, September 29, 2025 at 1:00 PM, at Pixley Funeral Home with the family welcoming guest at 12:00 PM.
