Born on March 4, 1934, Marie lived a life defined by hard work, love for family, travel, and tennis. Marie was filled with a sense of adventure and positivity that tomorrow will always be a better day. Raising two daughters as a single mom, Marie was able to build a career at General Motors, earn a Bachelor’s Degree in journalism, sell real estate, join a GM tennis league, and travel the world. She never complained about how difficult life was for her as a single mother. She took on every challenge with grace and a “can do” attitude.
During her 35-year career at GM she met the love of her life, James Sponseller. They retired together and pursued their love of travel, golf, and tennis. Marie also took up gardening and yoga. She remained active until her mid-80’s when renal failure and the loss of James finally slowed her down. She never missed a family birthday and a word of encouragement for all of her loved ones. She kept up on Facebook and Instagram never wanting to miss the opportunity to celebrate a family event or milestone.
She is survived by daughters Sherry Pass and Lisa Glaser (Rainer), stepdaughters Ellen Creager (Chris Mengel), Holly Andrecheck (Ray) and Gail Burnett; 11 grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren.
