Mark Marion Axe, age 68, of Shelby Township, Michigan, passed away Monday June 3, 2019. Mark was born the son of Richard and Wilma (Rohrbach) Axe in Sedalia, Missouri on May 21, 1951. He graduated from Bishop Ward High School in Kansas City, Kansas. Mark earned his bachelor’s degree from General Motors Institute and his masters from Purdue University. He married Patricia Devall on December 18th, 1970 in Kansas City, Kansas. Mark and Patty raised their family in Texas, Georgia, and finally Shelby Township, Michigan. Mark began his career with General Motors working in Arlington Texas while on CO-OP with GMI. He led the development of the first CTS interior among many accomplishments in his 40 years of service. Mark retired in 2009. Mark loved his family, his church, and his work. He taught Bible classes at Woodside Bible Church for many years. Mark is survived by his wife Patty; mother Wilma Axe; children Steven (Heather) Axe, David Axe, and Bryan (Suzanne) Axe; grandchildren Madelyn, Riley, Caleb, Shane, Peter, and Aaron; siblings Greg (Vickie) Axe, Laraine “Tinker” ( Gary) McCray; Keith (Debbie) Axe, Renee (Dave) Linkins, Chris Axe, and Colleen “Ardy” (Scott) Loux; as well as many nieces and nephews. Mark was predeceased by father Richard Axe. A funeral service will be held on Thursday June 13th, 2019 at 11am at Woodside Bible Church, located at 6600 Rochester Rd in Troy, Michigan 48085. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Mark’s honor to either Woodside Bible Church, or the Musella Foundation for Brain Tumor Research and Information Inc., 1100 Peninsula Blvd, Hewlett, NY 11557.
