

Nathan was born in Daly City, California on May 13th, 2005 to Bruce Roger Koch, II and Gena Godfrey Koch. Nathan joined the family as a younger brother to Caleb and later became an older brother to Simeon and Timothy. Nathan attended Hillsdale High School in San Mateo, California before the family moved to Rochester, Michigan in 2021 where he attended Stoney Creek High School and graduated in 2023 as a scholar of highest distinction. Nathan went on to attend Wayne State University, completing his freshman year.
Nathan was a talented drummer and artist who loved being outdoors and spending time with his friends and family. He enjoyed performing with various bands in Rochester and Brighton. Nathan was also a trusted employee and beloved coworker, working part-time jobs while both in high school and college. Nathan’s kind heart and generous spirit made him easy to love and spend time with. He often had an eye for and befriended those in need. His presence brought a smile to all who knew him.
Nathan is preceded in death by his grandparents, Gene and Evelyn Godfrey of Harrisburg, NC and Minas Teberian of Clarkston, MI. Nathan is survived by his parents Bruce and Gena Koch of Rochester, MI, older brother Caleb of Nashville, TN, and younger brothers Simeon and Timothy of Rochester, MI. Nathan’s extended loving family includes grandparents Karen Teberian of Clarkston, MI and Bruce Koch, Sr. of Shelby, MI as well as 11 aunts and uncles and 17 cousins in Michigan and North Carolina.
A memorial service to honor Nathan’s life will be held February 7th at 1:00pm at Kensington Church in Troy, MI. The family will receive visitors from 12:00 - 1:00 pm at the church prior to the service. No flowers or gifts are necessary. Please keep the family in your thoughts and prayers.
