Born on January 15, 1932 in Bergen auf Ruegen, Germany, Peter was the son of Ernst and Kathe Brandt. His life was a journey of exploration, hard work, and deep love for both his family and world around him. Peter married his beloved wife Christa Kosbab on January 16, 1961. Soon after, the couple set sail for the United States, arriving by boat in the fall of 1961 to begin their new life together. Peter worked with dedication first as a mechanic, and later as a service training manager for Volkswagen, a role he excelled in and was proud of. Peter's love for the United States grew through his travels, especially in the country's deserts. He was an outdoorsman at heart, he enjoyed camping, bicycling, and gardening. Peter treasured vacationing in Florida with Christa.
He is survived by his loving wife, Christa; his son, Thomas Brandt (Lydia Lewis-Brandt); and his treasured grandsons, Lucas and Elliot Brandt. Peter's legacy of curiosity, love, and adventure will live on in those who were fortunate enough to know him.
