Renee was born the daughter of Felix and Ava Knobbe in Stuttgart, Germany on July 13, 1933. She attended school in Germany. Renee met her future husband Karl Sattmann on a ship bound for Canada as she was immigrating. Renee and Karl were married in Windsor, Canada on September 3, 1955. They immigrated to the United States and raised their family in Rochester, Michigan. Renee was a longtime member of Great Oaks Country Club. She was a life-long student of music at Evola.
Renee loved her family. She enjoyed playing the organ; cards, especially bridge; and Golf and Tennis. Renee was a big Lions fan.
Renee is survived by her children Elizabeth (Michael) Hubbard and John (Judy) Sattmann; grandchildren Carly Hubbard, Alex (Nick) Alexander, Amanda Sattmann, Jessica Sattmann, and Samantha Sattmann; brother Heinz (Renate) Knobbe; and many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her husband Karl; her parents; and siblings Dieter Knobbe, Karin Krezeski, and Yvonne Knobbe.
Renee’s family will welcome all to memorial gathering on Saturday December 9th, 2023 from 10:30 until the time of the celebration of life service at 12:30 p.m. at Pixley Funeral Home, located at 322 West University Drive in downtown Rochester, Michigan. A reception in Renee’s honor will be held from 1:30 p.m. until 3:30 p.m. at the Rochester Chop House, located at 306 S. Main Street in downtown Rochester.
In honor of Renee’s wishes, the dress code for the celebration of life will be no black clothing please, rather turquoise or blue clothing where possible.
