I'm saddened to hear of Bob's passing. I have such fond memories of him from our grade school years together at St Gemma. Since I haven't seen Bob for quite a few years it was nice to view the pictures on this website and know that he enjoyed a successful career, and shared many good times with his family & friends. My prayers and heartfelt sympathy go out to all of them for their loss.

My sincere sympathy to Bob's family.  I recently spoke with him re our SGS 50th class reunion.  He sounded so happy, living where he lived, with the 'black bears, foxes and coyotes".  May he rest in peace.  Mary Ann Pichalski

Jim McKeague DPD

"Fish" had been my partner for a couple of years when I left the DPD in the 70's. Like some have alluded to, It was the best of times, it was the worst of times. His twisted sense of humor and subsequent laughter would have us laughing even if it was at our expense. At the same time he was highly respected by everyone. I deeply regret not keeping closer contact with him. Rest in peace buddy....Butch

Bob and I were Scout Car Partners for quite a while in the 70s at the Fourth (Fort and Green) Precinct. Bob was a real genelman and excellent Police Officer. Bob and I had many laughs and good times in the sct car to the point of hilarity. I regret not keeping in touch with each other for the past 20 some odd years but the bond will never end with Bob and our fellow Vernor Highway crime fighters...whata group of fine fellows. My thoughts and prayers to all of Bobs Family and friends... R.I.P. Bob.

Billy Lamb Retired D.P.D.

Bob (Fish) as we called him, and I were Scout car partners for many years, and thank God for that because he made going to work fun, even in Detroit. After all these years I still find myself quoting or thinking of something he said that got me laughing, he was a funny guy and a lot of fun to be around. We lost touch after we retired but I thought of him often and now will probably think of him even more. R.I.P. Partner.          Jimmie

I saw Bob last year at his mother's funeral which was the first time in a number of years since we were roomates at Northern Michigan University in Marquette, MI. We grew up together at St. Gemma and we were altar boys along with a number of our other classmates. My condolences go out to the Rindfleisch family since Bob will be missed.

My sincere condolences to the Rindfleisch Family....  I didn't keep in touch with Bob, but he will always be a part of my childhood, thanks to St. Gemma's (class of "62).

I used to work with Bob, back at the Fourth Precinct, around 1971-72...and recall his cheerfulness, warm smile and compatability with the rest of our crew while Fighting Crime & Evil. There was not an officer on the Department who did not enjoy having him as a partner. Unfortunately, I did not keep up contact with any guys from DPD after I retired and moved to Oregon, but my memories of good times with Bob live on. For sure, he was one of the Good Guys ! 'Yep" - I think I heard your dad say that more than any other word. People come into your lives for a reason and your dad and grandpa was someone who was part of ours (especially Jack) for a very long time. I don't think it was ever decided whose car was faster - the metallic orange 440 Duster or the bright lime green Road Runner.
