Sal was the loving father of Tom (Joy), Lynn (Mark) Nelson, Jim (Michelle), and Sherry (Randy) Lugar. Proud grandfather of Jessica, Sean, Kyle, Rachel (Johan) VanBlerk, and Nick, and great-grandfather of Mayla and Marshall. Brother of Mike Pomante and Fran Schimmel. Companion of Margaret Backstrand. Respectively, predeceased by his former spouse Marlene, (nee Lazoen).
He dedicated much of his life to golf, not just as a profession but as a lifelong passion. His commitment to the sport and his expertise as a PGA golf pro were well known and respected by many. Sal inspired countless individuals on and off the course with his skill, sportsmanship, and love for the game.
A private burial will be held.
