Tom was born to Loomis "Jack" and Esther Walden, on August 30, 1937. He grew up in Center Line, Michigan and graduated from Center Line High School.
Tom met the love of his life, Carole, during a visit to the State Fair Bowling Alley, in Detroit. They were married in 1959 and spent 63 wonderful years together until Carole’s passing in 2022.
Shortly after their nuptials, Tom was drafted into the United States Army and stationed at Fort Knox in Elizabethtown, Kentucky. Following his military service, Tom and Carole moved back to Michigan where he began his career in the insurance industry and spent 52 years with AAA.
Together, Tom and Carole enjoyed many years as members of Great Oaks Country Club. Tom was an avid golfer, never missing a chance to be out on the course, often with a Miller Lite in hand. Outside of the Club, Tom’s many loves included classic Corvettes, Detroit sports (especially the Lions and Tigers), and a good vanilla milkshake, however, there was nothing he loved more than his family.
After Tom’s retirement from AAA, he and Carole spent winters in Manasota Key, Florida. They had a wonderful community of friends at Gulf Sands and enjoyed welcoming friends and family to the beach condo throughout the years.
Thomas is survived by his daughters Sheryl (Stephen) Albert and Stacy (Daniel) Eberhardt; grandchildren Ryan Albert, Kaitlyn and Kamryn Eberhardt.
A memorial service for Thomas will be held on Monday, August 4, 2025, at 12:00 pm, with a visitation beginning at 10:00 am, at Pixley Funeral Home, located at 322 West University Drive, Rochester, MI, 48307.
In lieu of flowers, the Walden family is asking for donations in Thomas' honor, to be made to The American Cancer Society or the Evans Scholarship Foundation.
