Victoria Star Cardwell

Victoria Star Cardwell, 69, of Rochester, Michigan passed away peacefully on September 3, 2025. Born on July 23, 1956 and raised in Speedway, Indiana, Victoria dedicated her life to the service of others—as a nurse, an educator, a devoted mother, and a loving grandmother.

Victoria devoted over 40 years to the nursing profession where she not only cared for countless patients with compassion and skill but also guided and mentored future nurses with a deep commitment to education and excellence in healthcare. Her work touched many lives, both inside and outside the hospital walls.

She is survived by her beloved children: Kimberly (Jason) Watson, Jessica (Kevin) Degroat, and Jeffrey Cardwell; and by her cherished grandchildren: Vivian, Devin, Sadie, Krista, Madden, and Judah. She was preceded in death by her parents, Garrett and LaVonne Bays, and her granddaughter, Savannah.

Victoria's greatest joy was her family. She was a pillar of strength and encouragement, raising her three children to believe that anything was possible. Her love was fierce, unwavering, and ever-present—a source of comfort and inspiration to all who knew her.

A memorial visitation for Victoria will be held Monday, September 8, 2025 from 10:00 AM to 8:00 PM at Pixley Funeral Home, 322 W. University Dr., Rochester, Michigan 48307, with a memorial service at 7:00 PM.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made in Victoria’s memory to Gift of Life—continuing her legacy of care and compassion.
