Don graduated from Christ the King Grammar School and McQuaid High School. While aiming to become an accountant, Don took a part time job at Transcontinent Record Sales of New York while attending college. Through the years he became Regional Operations Manager of the Rochester Division of Transcontinent Record Sales.
After reaching the pinnacle of the record industry, he established Action Softball Leagues of Monroe County operating softball leagues through Monroe County parks inclusive of his favorite Cobbs Hill. Eventually he built Amateur Sports Park in Chili. Don owned and operated “The Park” for 32 years forging relationships and memories that have long outlasted the park itself. He was also an avid Bills and Yankees fan.
While enough to keep most busy, Don still managed to find spare time. Thus, in 1981 he joined Sportsplex Operators and Developers Association (SODA), as National Executive Director which he remained until his death.
